Developers mainly promise intensive horror experience.
Today, Capcom organized his own presentation of Spotlight, in which he focused on several published and upcoming names. Among them, of course, was the recently declared horror surveillance of Resident Evil Requiem.
We received an interview with the developers, but also supplemented the first frames of the gameplay. They confirmed what we already knew from the preliminary viewing of foreign media, the game will offer the 1st and 3rd staff of the staff. Nevertheless, it seems that the 1st person will become the main point of view, which the developers will recommend at least for the passages that we saw in existing demonstrations.
The creative director of the Nakanishi describes the experience of the game as “getting used to fear.” The developers should focus on ease, in the end, the nursing is beyond the seventh part, which is considered the most frightening of many fans.
This is one of the reasons why the creators had to reach a new character, the FBI agent Grace Eshcroft, whom they describe as an introvert man who is easy to scare. Nazyshi clearly mentions that they wanted Leon to be in the main role, but for real horror he simply does not suit his experience.
The question is whether this is another trolling from Capcom, or, in the end, Leon Kennedy will not, although earlier unofficial information is called the main character. But the fact that Leon mentions Nakanishi, and no one else is rather an option.
In any case, the developers also talked about the progress of the RE engine and the bound graphic side. For example, they identified characters rendering and, in particular, hair or face expression. Finally, the chosen subtitle, which should relate to the honor of all the dead and survivors, which went through hell (not only) in the city of Raccoon, where we will look at Re9.
Resident Evil Requiem arrives on February 27, 2026 on a PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S. A public playable demonstration will be available in August in Gamescom in Cologne.
