Samsung expands the offer of its SSD with a new 9100 Pro series, which provides performance and capacity at a level, which most users are associated only with data processing or high -class workstations.
This is the first consumer SSD from Samsung with the support of the PCIe 5.0 and NVMe 2.0 standard. In practice, this means that the transmission speeds, which are almost twice before previous generations, and the general acceleration of the system that can be seen and felt immediately.
In option 2 TB, the disk can process a sequential indication at a speed of up to 14 700 MB/SA. 13 400 MB/s. For larger versions, the reading speed increases to 14 800 MB/s. Random values of the approach are 2200 thousand IOP when reading and 2600,000 IOP when writing, which brings extremely quick answers when starting applications, working with data and multitasking. Thus, users can smoothly edit 4K or 8K video, upload large game worlds or work with AI models without waiting.
Samsung offers SSD 9100 Pro in 1 TB, 2 TB and 4 TB, with a version of 8 TB, planned for the second half of 2025. All models are available in M.2 2280 format, both in the version without cooler and an Ana Passive Heatsink. On most models, it has an AI height of 8.8 mm through a thin profile in order to effectively cool even at maximum load. The largest model of 8 TB is slightly higher (11.25 mm), but compatible – PlayStation 5.
Inside we find the proven Samsung V -Nand 8. Generation (TLC) and the new 5 -NM process control. The result is not only high performance, but also higher efficiency – the efficiency of transmission in watts has improved to 49 %compared to the previous 990 Pro model. The consumption of model 4 TB is 9 W when reading and 8.2 W when writing, which are values that remain deeply lower than the level of many competing PCI 5.0 discs.
The disk uses the Turbowrite 2.0 intellectual technology, which, if necessary, creates a dynamic SLC cache – for larger abilities in hundreds of gigabytes. In addition, the memory of the LPDDR4X cache, which grows with the ability of the disk: from 1 GB 1 TB model to 8 GB of the version 8 TB. All this is supplemented by a five -year guarantee, and a high life – TBW reaches 4800 TB on the largest model.
In terms of security, it supports 9100 for full encryption of the disk using AES 256BIT, as well as TCG/Opal 2.0 or Microsoft Edrive in accordance with IEEE1667. Everything is supplemented by Samsung Magiciacing software, which is used to monitor the suitability of the disk, diagnosis, performance control or firmware update. The application works on Windows, MacOS and Android.
Samsung installed a new SSD 9100 at very attractive prices. The model with a capacity of 1 TB begins with 4 449 CZK, option 2 TB costs 6 999 CZK, and the highest version of 4 TB costs 12 990 CZK. From the extreme performance that these discs offer, this is an excellent price ratio. In addition, some models can now be more profitable, which makes 9100 Pro Smart Investment in the future.
