Already in February, we brought impressions of the first episode “The plot appearance of Lost Records: Bloom & Rage” from the original authors of life are strange from the study, I do not nod. At the same time, it is worth noting that this is the debut of the Montreal branch of the studio. After playing in the second and last episode, we complement the preliminary viewing also with a complete overview of the game, which, as you will find out soon, again shows where the nucleus of the genre lies.

The first episode is called Bloom and Second Rage – except that The Central Four of the Girls is called Bloom & Rage. The authors probably could not choose more convenient names. They accurately describe the meaning and filling of both parts. At first you will really experience the prosperity of the friendship of the main characters, and at a quiet exhibition you will pass for a long time. With the conclusion of the first episode and especially in the second, which is preceded by a key revelation, then gets a steep slope. In the SO -tape belt 2, I spent a little less time (about 5 hours compared to 8 hours in tape 1), but I was charged with action, but if not for sure, so really strong moments, playing the deepest feelings that you might have no idea.
The dynamics of history works well, but hates more about its content. I can say that the game is not afraid of serious topics, and they are not afraid that they are simple, for the heroines of the mysterious adventure. In the end, although the event and mystery weaken the important motives of the game a little, but the benefits from the field in the field of opening a taboo about the problems of not only young, and not only girls are undeniable.
History is not afraid of demanding and ordinary, but important topics.
In this regard, lost records can be compared with the original life, strange. Where, on the other hand, the novelty could not follow obvious inspiration, is to close the story. It is difficult to mention without the slightest revelation of the details, and the indicated meta is extremely high. Nevertheless, I dare to say that Bloom & Rage scriptwriters had a stronger end. They smartly build a mysterious line of trust and victims, and it seems that the player will face the same complex dilemma, such as Max Kaufield on the lighthouse of Arcadia of the Gulf, ultimately gives completely undemanded solutions that do not have a serious influence on subsequent scenes. Although the final balance can boast of many different results of dramatic situations, changes based on the player’s decisions seem quite cosmetic.
Perhaps this is due to the relatively open end. This is such a symptom of similar games that do not want to close the way to continue. I can’t guess whether the developers are going to follow the stories of Swann and her friends, but the door is open. In the end, the last subtitles appeared a little earlier than I expected, and I felt after the second series Twin Peaks.

In the end, this is not at all strange. I think about all games from Non’T NOD – these are lost records DoubleThis is because the story puts the heroine, their relationship, their problems and their feelings, which they then convey to the players. On the one hand, inspiration is reflected in an atmosphere, which sometimes can slip almost to a horror movie and is supplemented by an amazing musical background. There is no jazz, but fans can be heard A little something like the motive of Laura PalmerThe initial compositions on the scale between India people after the punk also deserve the field.

The mysterious line then retreats most of the time to the background, and over the whole situation it swims like a haze of uncertainty. There is no exact explanation, the abyss in the forests of the American small city is the same for the players, as for Swann, Nora, Autumn and Kat. Even their relationship with the supernatural is ideally illustrated by their personalities, which are complex, different and, above all, believable. These are not two -dimensional archetypes, but extremely conscientious characters with their own beliefs and motives.
In addition, the heroines come doubly from the fact that we meet with them in two time limits. While we spend more time in the 1990s, when the girls were sixteen years old, and the entire gameplay was concentrated, we will experience them at the age of forty and learn their lifestyle. Even their sometimes distinctive, sometimes quite imperceptible transformation indicates that the authors approached their characters.
Lost records
In the introduction, I mentioned that Bloom & Rage subtitles are surprisingly accurate. It also applies to the main name Lost Records. One of the central mechanics is the shooting on a manual chamber, which Svann always carries with him. Here it depends on personal taste and expectation. If you want to use a camera associated with a denser gaming process, not to be a mystery, you will have a rigid collision with reality. Bloom & Rage does not have a challenge to the players and is proud of it. Several almost classic adventure excerpts or – with exaggeration – you encounter puzzles, but they protect, and the complexity of such moments does not deviate from the rest of the game. But the camera works well for the atmosphere, with your personnel, the game regularly works even a few hours after their purchase, and you can win enough video.

I believe that the dialogue system is much more original and more demanding on the player’s attention. They are in some way dynamic. During the discussion, dialogue options appear and disappear, sometimes you miss the right moment to say something, sometimes you should let others say and wait for your moment. First you must find some ideas by looking at the environment. Of course, there are classic situations when others simply wait before Swann speaks, but basically the conversations are unprecedentedly realistic.
Dialogues and observation of characters, their mood and emotions are a little harmful to the technical level. The graphics as a whole is not an excellent standard, but the environment is rich, and not the quality of models or details, you will regret that the glitch is not completely captured. First of all, I was disappointed with an expression on my face, which is very important in similar types of games, and, unfortunately, experience is noticeably harmful. In addition, personnel is not perfect, and 30 frames per second on the console are completely stable.
Return to the roots
Despite the reservations, we must say that we did not have such a good plot adventure for a long time. He does not nod that the original life is strange, and although she probably did not defeat him, most of the games remained with lost records with a review. This is a human story for which I longed. After a long time, I created a real relationship with the characters. In these cases, a quality scenario is a key building block, and here it was successful. For this, the developers were able to find justice and gave experience, not standard and not, but fresh, as the potential for development at the brand level, peace or specific plot lines.
Verdict
I do not nod to return to what he can do best, and proves that he is a team that can do this best. Lost notes are absorbed thanks to well -written heroines and attracting narratives who are not afraid to open even very demanding topics. There is no stronger end with a greater impact of the elections, and the technical side is slightly behind, but otherwise Bloom & Rage is one of the most successful representatives of the genre.
