Hideo Kojima takes stock of 2024 and reveals where his team’s trio of titles currently stand Kojima Productions. Among the list of progress, the famous developer does not hide the inconvenience caused to his games by the almost six-month strike of game actors.

“Regarding FROMwe developed the game and scanned the actors and environments. In the second half of the year, scanning and filming were suspended due to a strike [odborů SAG-AFTRA]”, writes Kojima. The strike also influenced the spy action announced at the beginning of last year. Phizint. The authors had to stop casting actors.

Development of the nearest title, Death Stranding 2: On the Beachbut apparently everything is going according to plan. “DS2 development, release of second trailer, [nahrávání zvukových stop] with actors, production and recording of music, filming of Japanese dubbing. We started playing and putting the game together in the summer,” Kojima explains.

Kojima Productions is far from the only studio affected by the SAG-AFTRA strike. We recently wrote about recasting at least a couple of roles in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s Zombies mode. If unions and game companies don’t agree on rules for the use of artificial intelligence in development and the protest continues, such cases are likely to increase.
