The first step will be update 1.2, which will introduce key changes to the user interface and improvements to various game mechanics. Exact details have not yet been published, but the patch should appear in December/December 2024. The authors promise that this will be an important step towards improving the gaming experience.
In 2025, Frostpunk 2 will be expanded with several major updates and additions. The developers shared the following plan:
Large dose of free content – It will include both changes to existing game mechanics and new features that will expand the player’s capabilities.
Birthday surprise — On April 24, the developers have “special news” ready. Details remain confidential.
Release of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S – Frostpunk 2 is finally coming to consoles, which should expand the player base. By the way, the Xbox Series X/S version will be on Game Pass, just like the PC version.
Three-story DLC — Extensions called “Spectrum” and “Aurora” have been officially confirmed, and the third one doesn’t even have a code name yet. DLC should be aimed mainly at developing the game world and adding new plot elements.
Additionally, Frostpunk 2 will be updated regularly to ensure the best possible experience. The developers promise to be open about any planned changes and actively listen to player feedback.
