Five years after the announcement, the desired day arrives. Path of Exile 2Diablo contender will be released in Early Access as an isometric RPG with a ton of content.
The story takes place twenty years after the events of the original game. Players will be able to create their own hero and choose from different class archetypes. He then ventures into the dark world to try to put an end to the spreading corruption.
Early access includes the first three acts of the campaign, 50 bosses and 400 enemy types. There will be six character classes to choose from, including warrior, monk or wizard. Six more will be added gradually. In just six months, the creators want to approximately double the content and release the finished game. There should be up to 100 different locations, 600 monsters, 100 bosses, or a reworked system of equipment and skills.
Two-player local co-op will be available at the start of this journey. Although the full version will be free gametherefore, early access in the basic package will cost 30 dollars/euro. Those who purchase the highest priced Founders Pack or spend at least $480 in microtransactions will also have access to the game.
Path of Exile 2 will be available in Early Access on Steam from December 6th to December of this year. Pro versions should also appear on the same day PlayStation 5 And Xbox series X/S. Initially, everything was supposed to be done in November, but the authors needed more time to finalize it. This decision cost the studio Grinding Gear Games more than a million dollars.
“The irony is that the game is mostly finished. I think we would have set an original release date anyway. But everything was happening too quickly and seemed too risky at the time, so we felt we had to put it off.” explained Head of Development Jonathan Rogers. The main problem was the integration of microtransactions between the first and second volumes.
“It’s almost certainly more than a million dollars.” – Rogers commented on the additional costs. “One of the things I mean is that we had obligations to the server providers that had to come into effect on a certain date. [původní datum vydání – pozn. red.]so now we’re paying for a month of servers that we can’t actually use.”
