Fans of post-apocalyptic adventures STALKER 2: The Heart of Chernobyl We can look forward to the first major update of the game, which will be released next week. Developers GSC Game World have announced that this patch will be available on both PC and Xbox Series X/S, and will focus on fixing technical issues, improving gameplay and graphics.
The first few weeks after the game’s release were difficult for the developers, as numerous technical problems arose that spoiled the experience of the highly anticipated game. Although GSC Game World faced many obstacles, such as the difficulty of development during the war in Ukraine, the team strived to gradually improve the game. The first major patch will include:
Game stability and crash fixes
Fixed memory allocation issues that caused the game to crash, especially when rendering, working with skeleton models, and playing quest-related cutscenes.
Quest progression fixes
Fixed several bugs that blocked progression through the main storyline.
Fixed NPCs getting stuck in objects and quest indicators not working properly.
Revised key missions to avoid situations where players were unable to progress.
Gameplay and balance improvements
Prices for weapons with upgrades have been adjusted in accordance with their cost.
Changes in NPC behavior, such as how they react to emissions if they have nowhere to hide.
Visual fixes and cutscenes
Addressing issues such as missing facial animations, misplaced NPCs, or graphical inconsistencies (such as “disconnected heads”).
Improved quality and stability of visual effects.
Game crash fixes
For example, an issue that prevented players from closing the trade screen when using the wrong ammo slot on the controller.
User Interface Improvements
Correct display of task notifications during conversations.
Fixes text errors and missing interaction tooltips.
The developers also said that they are working on additional updates in the future that will solve problems with dead zones of analog sticks on gamepads. As well as fixes to the A-Life system, which models the dynamic behavior of the world and NPCs.
