Helldivers 2 continue to engage PC and PlayStation 5 gamers during this year’s awards show. Golden joystick the game won four awards, including Best Multiplayer Game.
During the acceptance speech for Best Multiplayer Mode, members of the development team revealed that Helldivers 2 has already crossed the 15 million players mark. This achievement represents an increase of 3 million players compared to May/May 2024, when the game was announced to have sold 12 million copies.
Released on February 8, 2024, Helldivers 2 became the best-selling game released by Sony for PS5, as well as the Japanese company’s most successful game for PC. Within the first three months after release, the game surpassed 12 million copies sold, making it one of the biggest gaming hits of our time. It’s just a shame then that I messed up with my PSN account.
The success at the 2024 Golden Joystick Awards and the growing community of players indicate that Helldivers 2 has the potential to continue and become an even more successful game. The developers have promised more content and improvements that could take the game even further.
