Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 confirmed its status as one of the most anticipated games of this year. The game became the clear top seller in Europe in October/October, beating out its competitors. On the other hand, games like Dragon Age: The Veilguard and Silent Hill 2 Remake failed to live up to expectations.
According to game stores and digital platforms, Black Ops 6 is the best-selling game this fall in Europe. Game analysts attribute this success not only to the quality of the game itself, but also to a large-scale marketing campaign and the long-term popularity of the Call of Duty brand. The series has been a sales success for years, and Black Ops 6 definitely confirms this trend.
Sales of Black Ops 6 in the first two weeks were up 5% compared to last year’s Modern Warfare 3. By the way, this part is considered a disappointment. However, compared to 2022’s Modern Warfare 2, sales of Black Ops 6 are down 28%. Likely due to Game Pass subscriptionwhere the game has been available in PC and Xbox versions since its launch. If we count only the PlayStation versions, sales here increased by 26% compared to Modern Warfare 3, and by 2% compared to Modern Warfare 2.
Another constant EA Sport FC 25. It is in second place and has only 2% worse sales than its predecessor. The game had the best start in the history of the series. Dragon Ball: Shining Zerowhich rose to third place. After four weeks, its sales were double those of the previous best-selling game, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot.
Is on the other side Dragon Age: Guardian of the Veil. The news from BioWare was more of a disappointment than originally expected. While BioWare’s RPG had great potential thanks to its rich history and loyal fan base, the sales results and reception from journalists and gamers were a disappointment. As a result, the new Dragon Age is 18% worse than Dragon’s Dogma 2 and 21% behind the PS5 exclusive Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
