We will soon be able to find out about her future.
Polish studio 11 bit entered the gaming world as a team creating games full of complex themes and moral choices. This phase began in 2014 with the release of This War of Mine, in which we take on the role of civilians experiencing war.
The games have since sold over 9 million copies, but the 11-bit version made history for more than just sales. In 2020, this title was included in the recommended literature for Polish schools, and in 2022 even in the curriculum. That same year, the developers managed to raise over $850,000 from the game’s sales to help the Ukrainian Red Cross shortly after the Russian invasion began.
This of War Mine celebrates its 10th anniversary today, and studio 11 bit posted a rather interesting message on Twitter: “While a lot has happened over the past decade, the game’s mission to shed light on the cost of civilian life in war is far from complete.” the statement says. “Stay tuned to learn more about the future of This War of Mine.”
This is quite surprising because after all these years the developers seem to have considered the game closed and moved on to other projects. After all, a number of This of War Mine creators are currently working on the survival game The Alters, which will be released early next year. In addition to supporting the recently released Frostpunk 2, the studio is developing an ambitious adventure game codenamed Project 8.
So the developers have started working on another game that we don’t know about yet? This is certainly not excluded, since more than a year has passed since the last video conference for investors. Unlike previous years, the studio strangely left her on the sidelines for the summer, but she doesn’t seem to have disappeared completely.
On the official website, you will find that this year’s conference was recently announced and is scheduled for tomorrow, November 15th, namely at 11:00 CET, and can be watched live on YouTube. So let’s see if we don’t get a teaser right away.
