A few days ago, AMD released its financial results for the past quarter, and in addition to the numbers themselves, we also learned some important information. Although the new generation of processors in the form of Ryzen 9000 is already on the market and X3D models are coming soon, we are still waiting for new graphics cards. But it looks like it won’t last long.

The company’s CEO, Lisa Su, said that video cards with RDNA 4 architecture will go on sale at the end of next year, as reported by Wccftech magazine. We don’t know the exact date, but we can expect to see a presentation at CES in January.

At the same time, Su added that RDNA 4 should bring significant improvements in ray tracing performance, as well as new capabilities in the field of artificial intelligence. The PlayStation 5 Pro console, which will be released in a few days, can help here. It should have significantly better RT performance due to the RT architecture from RDNA 4 being ported to it.

At the same time, it’s good to add that AMD is not going to release high-end versions of RDNA 4, so this segment will likely only be filled by Nvidia’s higher-end RTX 50 series models. AMD wants to focus solely on this. to the main and lower segments, where the company is more successful in the long term.

Regardless of this, we learned another very interesting news. In a video introducing the Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor, AMD Vice President Jack Huynh said the company is hard at work on the next-generation FSR, which is expected to be powered by machine learning, with Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 being the first title. the right to receive the technology has been confirmed.

We’ve known for some time that AMD is preparing a new version of FSR, but it’s unclear where exactly the improvements will occur. And is AMD focusing on upscaling, where it loses significantly more compared to DLSS, or simply on frame generation, as Huynh previously suggested.
