Remedy is venturing into multiplayer for the first time, but is not giving up on storytelling.
Project Condor was finally officially unveiled at today’s Xbox event. An upcoming game from Remedy has been in development for quite some time and its final title is FBC: Firebreak. next year on PC and Xbox Series X|Ssimultaneously heading to the service Game pass. But what is it really about?
Although Finnish studio Remedy is known for its single-player games such as Alan Wake, Control or Max Payne, this is the first time it has ventured into multiplayer. FBC: Firebreak is A cooperative PvE first-person shooter for three players.which takes place in the world of the Remedy Connected Universe, specifically the Oldest House, the headquarters of the FBC, where Control also took place.
In the game, we take on the role of a strike force that deals with the remnants of the Hiss. The title takes place after the end of the original Control, but even though the invasion is over, there are still many enemies left inside the building. Remedy promises not only fun and accessible gameplay that should be full of original ideas and the use of supernatural powers, but also the storytelling and world-building that the developers are known for.
“You’ll see more of the world of Control. Also the Federal Bureau of Control.” says game director Mike Cayatta in an interview with Xbox Wire. “You will meet more people who work there. You will find out more The oldest house. You will encounter some strange things. And above all, you will experience the world, new and old, from a completely different point of view.” According to the developers, if you’re familiar with the story and world of Control, you’re in for a treat. But you should enjoy the game even without this knowledge.
The game is expected to receive updates and content additions over time, but Remedy is reluctant to call the game a GaaS (game as a service). In any case, this will be a big change for the studio, the studio’s director of public relations, Thomas Puha, concludes. Not only as the first multiplayer game, but also as the first game that Remedy published entirely independently.
