On Monday Microsoft announced new era of halo. Studio 343 Industries renamed to Halo Studios and announced that several projects are in development that are being built in a modern Unreal engine 5 from Epic Games. The team previously used Slipspace’s interior space. It had to be created Halo Infinite 2.
Insider Rebs has learned from a former developer that despite Halo Infinite’s initial problems, a sequel is indeed in development. But work was stopped at the end of 2022. The decision was then made to abandon the legacy Slipspace engine and start building everything on Unreal Engine 5. This decision will lead to the cancellation of Halo Infinite 2 and the layoff of a large number of 343 Industries employees in early 2023. The rest needed to focus on learning new technologies and seeing what Unreal Engine 5 could do.
It is currently unclear if Halo Studios has returned to the current project. In the future we should expect several games with different experiences. There will probably be another shooter, and we can also expect strategy from the other team. Halo Studios is supposed to be in control and running the Halo universe. All of these projects must be graphically attractive and sound great using cutting-edge audio technology. Wise from Audiokinetic studio, owned by Sony.
At least that’s what Zuby_Tech claims. Wwise is used by many professional game developers. interactive and realistic sound effects. This technology will make the Halo experience better and more immersive.
