After a long series of speculations, the series developers have confirmed Hello transition to Unreal engine 5 and presented a video with static scenes created using new technologies. The team formerly known as 343 industries simultaneously announced the renaming to Halo Studios.
“With all due respect, some elements of the Slipspace engine are almost 25 years old,” explain the reasons for the change. Chris Matthewsart director of the team. Operations Director Elizabeth van Wyk He adds that modern technology has led to disproportionately long development times: “It’s not just how long it takes to get a game to market, but also how much time we need to update, add new content and adapt to what what the players want.”
The studio presented the so-called Project Foundry. He notes that this is not footage from the game, but also not a simple demonstration of technology. The scenes created are intended to faithfully reflect the future form of the Halo games.
“Our intention is that most of the things presented will appear in development or future projects,” says the team leader. Pierre Hintze.
More games are currently in development. “We were disproportionately focused on trying to create the conditions for success. [live service] Halo Infinite, Hintze explains,[ale přechod na Unreal] this allows us to focus on creating several new games of the highest quality possible.”
