“When I first fell in love with video games early in my career, I saw the power of this new medium to tell stories that had never been told before and create worlds that could change people. Day 4: Night is a return to that pioneering spirit, that innocence and untainted creativity.” describes Cantamessa.
The studio won the first subsidy from Korean giant Kraftonwhich it falls under, for example PUBG or, more recently, Tango Software. In addition to Krafton, the studio attracts from the 1Up Ventures fundfounded by Xbox co-founder Ed Fries. The goal of the project is to support the community of independent developers.
“When you see a lot of concepts like we do, it’s always very interesting to hear a completely new and original idea. This was definitely one of the most creative things we’ve seen in a while.” describes the studio’s upcoming title, Day 4 Night, which Fries will choose.
He joins Cantamess and Soliani. a number of veterans, especially from Ubisoftwhere they were associated with brands such as Mario + Rabbids, Just dance, Phantom Scout or Star wars. In particular, Cristina Nava, Gian Marco Zana and Luca Breda are helping to create the studio.
“In Day 4 Night we capture everything I’ve ever wanted to experience as a player – joy, adventure, poetry, action, wonder and the fun of working with friends.“, says Soliani.
