The developers compensate for the difference in modes.
Developers from Konami described their approach to a couple of mods for the upcoming remake in an interview with Japanese magazine Famitsu Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. The original intention of allowing players to switch seamlessly was thwarted due to difficulty spikes.
Players will be able to choose between two modes. The so-called New style will look more modern, like the fifth part. Outdated style on the contrary, it tries to imitate the original and its superior camera as closely as possible.
“We planned to allow switching between viewpoints at any point in the game, but decided not to,” says producer Yuji Korekado.
The new style has a wider field of view and allows you to shoot while moving.
“The level of difficulty changes dramatically depending on the perspective. The new style has a wider field of view and allows you to shoot while moving, so it ended up being a lot easier than we expected,” he explains. “However, adapting to the new style would make the outdated style too difficult. “
“That’s why we decided to separate the modes. “Legacy’s difficulty level is close to the original version, and we set a new style from scratch,” Korekado’s thread concludes.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will be released on PC, Xbox series And PlayStation 5we still don’t know the release date.
