Polish studio Bloober Team regularly boasts that, in collaboration with Konami, it has remained faithful to the original. Silent Hill 2 since 2001. At the same time, it will offer a modern visual and technical aspect, as well as an expansion of the story. As part of the marketing campaign, today we can see a comparison of the remake with the original game.
An almost fifteen-minute video from the new episode of PlayStation Underground compares two important events in the game. For this reason contains spoilers. We first see the protagonist James and Laura meet at Brookhaven Hospital. The dialogue has remained virtually unchanged. Laura’s famous fart is also present. Of course we see better motion capture.
Second part of the video dedicated to fighting the Flesh Lips boss. Here the changes are more noticeable. In the remake, James is attacked by only one enemy instead of two in 2001. The monster has the same design, but there is a slight deviation in how the player should act in battle. The player must deliver him from a shaft in the ceiling to the ground and then break his cage. It also seems that fights feel less wooden.
Silent Hill 2 will be released on October 8 on PlayStation 5 and PC. Owners of the more expensive edition will be able to play 48 hours earlier. The review embargo is in effect until October 4.
