Just a week after the closure of Midwinter Studios.
Studio and publishing house Behavior Interactive known for the multiplayer horror game Dead by Daylight, announced the acquisition Red Hook Studiosthe team behind a couple of games in the series The Darkest Dungeon.
“We are honored to welcome a developer of Red Hook’s caliber. At the beginning of the year, we set ourselves an ambitious goal (…) to make Behavior synonymous with horror and surround Dead by Daylight with a library of equally exceptional horror games. The other side also praises the purchase through the mouth of its co-founder. Chris Bourassa: “We’ve found a kindred spirit in the Behaviour team. Both studios are Canadian, independent, and focused on creating fantasy horror games. We have a different scale, which opens the door to new opportunities. Behaviour’s support will help us realize Red Hook’s vision and focus on making Darkest Dungeon the absolute king of the dark fantasy genre.”
The creators of Dead by Deadlight are expanding their portfolio shortly after the cancellation of an upcoming spin-off of their most famous game and the closure of the studio Winter fun. They bought it two years ago. Over the past two years, Behavior has continued to grow. It acquired the teams at Fly Studio, SockMonkey Studios, and Codeglue. It also founded a subsidiary made up of employees of the shuttered studio AntiMatter Games.
