What happens to a robot when he’s stranded on a desert island? DreamWorks Animation, the creators of How to Train Your Dragon, say they can find heart in Rozzum’s wild adventures.

An assembly-line robot called Rozzum (for Roz’s friends) was designed to reliably carry out tasks for its human handlers. But when an accident leaves it shipwrecked on an island with no humans, it has no idea what to do with its newfound freedom. And they must learn to adapt to the inhospitable conditions of a piece of dirt in the middle of an ocean inhabited only by animals. Luckily, Roz’s software is so advanced that she learns to communicate and cooperate with the locals, and even becomes a foster mother to an orphaned child.

All her experiences here gradually lead to the fact that where before there was only a flawless computer program, there are now thoughts, opinions, ideas and, above all, feelings, which can sometimes be imperfect. In short, the robot girl has become human in a world without people. Unfortunately, she is a little worried about her manufacturers, who are missing one machine and are desperately looking for it, and about her adopted bird son-in-law. He must prepare him for a flight to warmer climes before winter comes.

Movie Feeling in the desert — a screen adaptation of the world bestseller by writer Peter Brown. The name of the main character has a Czech trace, as it refers to the universal robots of Karel Čapek and Rossum from his play RUR Director Chris Sanders (director How to Train Your Dragon And The Croods) discovered the book template through my daughter’s homework and immediately fell in love with it“I love big adventure stories too, but I enjoy it even more when I can see the small, even intimate emotional moments that you take away from the cinema. As a writer, I also like to focus on these scenes, and I really enjoyed this one.” says director Sanders.
