It’s coming out in October and we’ll be playing as Agent Estevez from the FBC.
Developers from Remedy promised two story expansions for survival horror Alan Wake 2. The first, called “Night Springs”, was released in June and brought us three episodes of a TV show, which told about Alan’s attempts to escape from the Dark Place. Now, as part of the State of Play presentation, we saw a full presentation of the second DLC, which is called The Lake House.
The announcement was made with a short teaser, which, however, gave us some important information. As the title suggests, we will be looking at the FBC Lake House research station in the city of Bright Falls, which was established there after the events of the first volume. But reckless experiments here led to a collision of reality with the Dark Place that engulfed the location.
Interestingly, the expansion does not take place after or before the end of the main game, but during it. While Alan Wake is trying to get out of the Dark Place, and FBI agent Saga Anderson is investigating local murders, in the add-on we will play as FBC agent Kieran Estevez, who has already appeared in the base game.
The Lake House is coming in October, but the exact release date is still unknown. It will only be available as part of the Deluxe Edition, both digital and physical, which will also be coming in October. The expansion will be coming to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
