Goro Majima, a familiar face to fans, will appear in the only leading role. A former yakuza member is shipwrecked on a remote island in the Pacific Ocean and loses his memory. He becomes a pirate and tries to revive his memories. To this is added the fight for some legendary treasure.
Much emphasis should be placed on the Maji ship, which can be modified, upgraded, hired, and there will also be naval battles. We will visit several locations, including the titular Hawaii, which was already featured in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. In addition, we will see, for example, a line with a series of traditional mini-games and side activities.
“It may seem a little strange at first, but don’t worry: the game will have the drama and thrilling action typical of the Yakuza series,” explains producer Ryosuke Hori.
“The combat system is completely different. He’s fast and has the uniqueness of Majima – that’s what we were trying to achieve,” he adds, adding that, for example, for the first time in the series’ history, he will jump in combat.
Like a Dragon: The Pirate Yakuza Comes Out in Hawaii February 28 on PC, as well as on Xbox and PlayStation consoles of old and new generations.
