It is no secret that the new part of the Battlefield series is being created in the DICE studio and other support teams. However, information about the game so far comes mainly from unofficial sources. For example, there was talk about return of the single player campaign and a battle royale mode or an emphasis on environmental destruction.
In an interview with IGN magazine, Vince Zampella, who was tasked with leading its future direction in 2021, spoke specifically for the first time about the upcoming sequel to the brand’s famous action game. The gaming industry veteran, who has also worked on series like Call of Duty and Titanfall in the past, said that the upcoming sequel will bring a return to the style that characterized the third and fourth parts. Zampella considers Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4 to be the series’ supposed pinnacle.
We learned what the new Battlefield will offer modern equipment and furnishings in the presentwhich will complement the return to the classic class system. In addition, the developers decided to return battles for a maximum of 64 players in multiplayer, which in the previous part with the subtitle 2042 replaced the more numerous clashes of up to 128 players. According to Zampella, smaller maps can bring more fun to young players.
