Even in games, we have plenty of theories to explain things, or at least make an already fascinating fictional world more special. So, let’s take a look at ten of the most outrageous fan theories in games. Be prepared, it gets pretty dark at times.

But we’ll start small. Luigi and Mario are the most famous brother duo in gaming history. But some fans have speculated that there’s a third brother – Dr. Mario. After all, when will our fearless plumber finish his arduous medical education? Plus, we’ve confirmed that Mario is both brothers’ last name, in addition to being their first name, so this theory makes sense even from a name standpoint.
The biggest evidence is probably the fact that Dr. Mario appears in the Super Smash Bros. series as a separate character with different stats than Plumber Mario. He is stronger, but slower. Another piece of evidence that supports this theory is the Italian flag. The red color here represents Mario, the green color Luigi. White could just be our doctor. The only thing that ruins this theory is the existence of a doctor. Luigi. But another theory says that Luigi is the most powerful character in the entire Mushroom Kingdom, he wouldn’t even need to study medicine.
