Studio The Lost Boys Interactive is laying off 139 people. The developers reported the wave of resignations on LinkedIn, the figure was then clarified by GamesIndustry magazine based on reports from Wisconsin authorities. The Embracer team is focusing on helping third-party games.

“As a supportive development studio, we are directly impacted by our clients’ projects and priorities. The need to adapt to changing market conditions requires us to re-evaluate how we work,” the studio explains, adding, “We recognize the impact this decision has on the team members who have made significant contributions to our success. Decisions to reduce headcount are never taken lightly, and we have only taken this step after considering all other options.”

Despite the significant number of dismissed employees, all the teams remain “in place”. Lost Boys do not abandon any of the split projects.

The studio was owned as of 2022. Gearbox Entertainment. However, when he sold Gearbox, he kept it together with part of the publishing department and the Cryptic and Captured Dimensions teams in the troubled Embracer. The Lost Boys signed games like Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, New World, Diablo IV or PUBG.
