For a long time there have been speculations about the reasons why this didn’t work on xbox series x/s award-winning and hugely successful RPG Black Myth: Wukong. Most recently, rumors circulated that a memory leak and related crashes in the game were to blame for the game’s failed certification process on Xbox.

The developers from the Chinese studio Game Science themselves previously cited unspecified technical problems as the cause. A new theory was put forward by journalist Paul Tassi, who in his article for Forbes magazine claims that this the real reason is the exclusivity of timewhich the studio was supposed to close with Sony. Tassi cites his own source, whom he says he trusts.

Exclusivity must be set a fixed period of timeafter which the game could be released on Xbox. If the information about the timed exclusivity agreement between Sony and Game Science is true, it is surprising that it was not officially announced before the actual release, as was the case with a number of other titles.
