Daniel Vavra On his Facebook profile he revealed other interesting facts about Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2He boasted that yesterday he and chief designer Prokop Jirská had calculated how much they had actually written.
They did it They wrote 2,200,000 wordsThat’s 11,000 typical screenplay pages. That’s about 100 screenplays for a typical two-hour movie, Vavra says, or about 25 average novels.
“One of our quests takes almost as long as a regular movie, and there are many such quests,” Vavra added.
“If we took pure action scenes (cut scenes) in the game, their length would be equal to three movies. But in the game, most of the dialogue is outside of these scenes, plus each character has so-called lucky ones, that is, a conversation in the open world (greetings, shouts, conversations in the store, reactions to things in the world). …). And, of course, there are clouds of texts around us – the main character’s diary, the codex, tutorials, hints … Vavra continues. This is enough. A person who can read quickly (300 words per minute), if he read eight hours a day, he would read for 3 working weeks.” — explains Vavra.
The script for the sequel to the medieval RPG was written by almost twenty peopleVavra wrote only a small part.
“Most of the main quests are based on my concept and plot outline, then we brainstorm together, then one of the designers writes it, and then as the ‘showrunner’ of the series, I read everything, edit it, and maybe rewrite it if I don’t like it. 100% of the cutscenes have passed through my hands in some way. For example, last summer I edited almost 100% of all the dialogue of the main characters in the game so that everything fits together, the characters behaved the same in the quests and spoke the same way.” — Vavra said.
“Despite this, I still come across things in the game that I’ve never seen before, because it’s just too much for one person to keep track of. But mostly, I’m pleasantly surprised by them.” — added Vavra.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will be released on February 11, 2025 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S with Czech dubbing.
