Lionsgate has announced that the recently released film Borderlads will be available for online rental. Specifically, this will happen on August 30thwhen you can purchase the movie on platforms like Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV or Google Play.

In addition to the standard $25 version, there will also be a 48-hour credit option for $20. The film was released in theaters just three weeks ago, and under normal circumstances it would have hit the online space much later. But Lionsgate apparently had to React to low cinema sales.

The film, for example, only grossed $8.8 million in its opening weekend in the US, which, given the budget exceeds 115 million clearly not enough. In this way, the publisher is trying to at least cut losses by quickly introducing it to popular online platforms. However, it is unlikely that the film will be able to make money on itself at all.
