Gamescom boasts of attendance and viewership this year

Gamescom 2024 is already behind us, so it’s time to take stock of the past year. Right after the event, the organizers released key figures in terms of attendance and viewership. We learned about this first at Gamescom this year. 335 thousand visitors camecame from approximately 120 countries.

Last year, by comparison, 320,000 people took part in the event, while the year before that number was 265,000. The previous two years were surpassed in attendance. In addition, the organizers confirmed that they were fully managed to sell out tickets for Friday and Saturday. However, the fair still has room to live up to the values ​​of the pre-Covid years. In 2018 and 2019, the event was visited by more than 370,000 people.

However, this year has seen record highs from the point of view of the audience of various online broadcastswhich had reached 310 million views by Saturday night. The first Opening Night Live conference was also a major success, with 40 million viewers, double the number last year.

The organizers also announced that the event took place this year. 32 thousand people from among journalists and the professional community with a large increase in the number of expats from North America and Japan. There was also interest in the side events of the show, such as Gamescom Congress and Devcom. Even before the fair itself, it was confirmed that this year’s event would have a record number of exhibitors.

Despite the changing trends in the gaming industry and the emergence of online conferences, it is clear that Gamescom continues to occupy an important and irreplaceable place on the imaginary map of major gaming events.
