The Katana 17 B12VFK-458CZ could be called such a “laptop for everyone”. The laptop is focused on the combination of affordable price and high performance. More demanding users can choose the Katana A17 AI B8VG-886XCZ model. This is the best model in almost all aspects. For starters, the RTX 4070 8GB graphics (TDP 105W) and the AMD Ryzen 9 8945HS processor form the basic component duo. The 1TB SSD remains, but the RAM capacity has increased to 32GB DDR5. We also find faster Wi-Fi 6E and, basically, support for AI functions.
The display is also a big jump between the models. The Katana A17 AI B8VG-886XCZ has a matte QHD panel with a refresh rate of up to 240Hz. The smoother yet faster panel will come in handy when you want to while away the time with some gaming after school or work.
Of course, high academic performance is not the preference of all students. After all, you want to carry your laptop around often and count on its durability. With the Katana models, you get both, but to a lesser extent. The Stealth series will serve you well.
The MSI Stealth 16 AI Studio A1VGG-033CZ does not aim to impress you with uncompromising performance. Rather, it will provide you with maximum performance anywhere, even on long trips. Inside, we find an Intel Core Ultra 7 155H and an RTX 4070 8 GB (TDP 105 W) with a multiplexer switch. Again, there is support for local AI functions that will make your work easier. The specification is completed by a 1 TB SSD, 32 GB of RAM and Wi-Fi 7. But what is most interesting is the weight, which for this 16-inch laptop fits under two kilograms.
The lightweight laptop with a 16-inch display with a 16:10 aspect ratio and a resolution of 2560 x 1600 is ideal for working on the go. The 99.9 Wh battery will ensure longevity. Therefore, we can recommend this model to anyone who commutes to school and work and plans to use the laptop on the go. The MSI Stealth 16 AI Studio is also useful for college students who find large gaps in their schedule and intend to use them while working on the laptop. Here, too, you will have a large battery, as well as performance and low weight.
If performance is not a big deal for you and you are looking for an office machine or a laptop solely for taking notes and light-duty activities, then the MSI Prestige 13 AI Evo A1MG-037CZ will suit your needs. This is a truly portable laptop with a stunning 13.3-inch OLED display with a high resolution of 2880 x 1800. This panel is a joy to look at. Storage, even in this case, is 1 TB and 32 GB of RAM is ready. There is Wi-Fi 7 and a fingerprint reader. The laptop is again equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 7 155H processor with support for local AI features.
The MSI Prestige 13 AI Evo A1MG-037CZ impresses with its combination of hardware, especially the display, AI features and ample storage. It also adds a light weight (0.99 kg) and a very large 75 Wh battery, which is a really decent price for a 13-inch laptop. MSI has really packed the maximum into a small aluminum body.
Finally, we have the pure gaming laptop MSI Claw A1M-054CZ. The latter recently received a key BIOS update that brought a performance boost. The Claw is thus an even better partner for gaming on the go. Its key features include, for example, a Full HD display with 120 Hz, a 1 TB SSD, Wi-Fi 7 or a low weight of only 675 grams. Demanding gamers will also be impressed by the Hall effect levers, which are more precise and do not suffer from inaccuracies over time.
