This is a prequel set in Sicily.
A very pleasant surprise was prepared at the end of the Opening Night Live by the developers from the Hangar 13 studio, who officially presented a new part of the Mafia series. But this is not strictly a continuation in the form of a fourth part, because in the game with the subtitle The Old Country we will return to the past.
The game, which has only been teased for now, is set in the early 20th century on the island of Sicily. Of course, we’ll be exploring the local underworld and the brutal life of the mafia.
We don’t know any more details yet, but publisher 2K added that we’ll see the game next year. The next piece of information should come in December of this year, probably at The Game Awards.
In any case, Czech players will be pleased to know that, as the Steam page reports, we will get Czech voice acting, as was the case with the first two parts and the remake of the first. But we have no official confirmation yet. The text on Steam also apparently mentions the Czech title “Mafia: Homeland”.
Mafia: The Old Country will be released on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
