Capcom reported a drop in sales and profits between April and the end of June. In the digital content category, the Japanese company’s revenue was 44% lower than a year ago. Still, it was pleased with the results and said it was on track to meet its goals for the year.

The 33% drop in overall sales makes sense given that it occurred in June last year. Street Fighter 6which was played by a million people in its first three days and took just over a month to sell two million copies. The remake also helped last year’s numbers Resident Evil 4which came out just before the start of the fiscal year. Capcom’s biggest hit this spring was Dragon’s Dogma 2which also launched last financial year, with 2.6 million players registering in its first week.

The first quarter of this year is very bad. However, Capcom is confident that it will make up for the losses in the rest of the financial year. It has already happened Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess and more games are on the way. The developers are keeping mum on more details for now, but by March 2025, Resident Evil 9, Pragmata, or an expansion for Dragon’s Dogma 2 will be considered. That will be announced next year.
