Last October, developers from the Creative Assembly studio released a new part of the Total War series, subtitled “Pharaoh”, which took players to Ancient Egypt. But it plays received a very mixed reception and relatively loud criticism from players who complained about the lack of content and news compared to older works, as well as the ambitious price tag of 60 euros. Before the end of last year, the developers apologized and lowered the price to 40 euros. At the same time, they promised that all additional content would eventually be available to existing owners for free, compared to the original plan.

In January of this year, players got their first free expansion, called High Tide. This week, the second expansion, even bigger, was released. It’s called Dynasties and brings 4 new major factionswhich is supplemented by 25 minor factions. The gameplay is enriched by a new genealogical tree system, improved combat mechanics and more than 150 units, including cavalry.

Simultaneously with the release of the free add-on from Dynasties studio. launched a big discount event to individual parts of the Total War series. Thanks to this, the described part with the subtitle Pharaoh can be purchased on Steam for less than 27 euros. It is already clear that the launch of the expected DLC in combination with the discount was able to significantly revive interest in the game, at least for a while. Data from the Steam database shows that Total War: Pharaoh currently has more than 6,000 players playing simultaneously, which is the highest figure since the release of the game itself.
