Transition to new technology
Although the technical basis of our site was very solid, it required more radical maintenance for a long time – we had squeezed the maximum out of the WordPress platform over the years, and it all began to collapse under the weight of all sorts of connected modules. Having carefully collected all the information and assessed the available resources, we decided to switch to our own technical solution, adapted to the specific needs of our magazine.
The most important aspect of the move to our own technology is the fact that we can now intervene much more efficiently and quickly throughout the site to respond to your input and, of course, to the ongoing changes in the gaming journalism industry. Last but not least, it is worth noting the significantly higher speed of the new system, which we cannot but praise, especially behind the scenes, when inserting and editing articles.
User profiles
Most importantly, we have of course saved your user profiles, and you will log in to them just as before. But there should no longer be any issues with unwanted logouts, which some of you have rightly complained about. Updating your profile picture and other features related to personalizing your profile should also now work better. For example, you can promote your social networks or pin an icon of your favorite platform.
However, with the new interface, individual user levels have been reset, so in this regard, we all start from the same starting line. To make it more enjoyable to gain levels in your profile, we are preparing contests for interesting prizes that will be related to this feature. We have also increased the maximum level, now there is no risk of all veterans getting stuck at level 53 together.
