Coming next week in the console free game World of Tanks Modern Armor hard rock madness begins in the form of a metal experience Metal Fest. The main stars of this year will be the legendary Motorhead with the Ace of Spades himself, Lemmy Kilmister, and horror rock icon Rob Zombie.
Both musical giants bring their unique sound and style to the adrenaline-fueled tank-on-tank action of World of Tanks Modern Armor. The event kicks off on July 30 and runs until August 20, offering players three weeks of intense action.
“Modern technology allowed us to fully integrate Lemmy into the game, which we felt was appropriate given that this is the kind of game he played and passionately enjoyed.” Motöhead said.
“Motörhead supervised the development of the mascot voices of Warpig and Lemmy. In the case of Lemmy, it was clear that using a double would not achieve an important level of authenticity.” — added Brendan Bluett, sound designer for World of Tanks Modern Armor. “That’s why we worked with the band to create a synthetic imitation of Lemmy’s voice, based on original voice samples from his private, undisclosed archives, including interviews and raw recordings.”
Motorhead fans are in for a treat. A brand new tank inspired by the anthem “Ace of spades“; players can also get a tank skin FV107 Yataganwhich is an homage to the song “Bomber”. These metal beasts are piloted by two fully voiced 3D commanders: Lemmy and Motorhead mascot Warpig. There are also 2D commanders of the Motorhead band members and a collection of really cool cosmetics and goodies.
The line-up was also joined by the master of musical horror, the sultan of shock rock. Rob Zombie. Tankers will dominate the battlefield with Rob Zombie-themed in-game content, including a new tank and a skin for the M53/M55, based of course on two of his most famous hits, Dragula and Super Beast. Rob Zombie himself will be available as a 3D commander, along with some exclusive cosmetics to make the tank even more sinister.
And despite all the headbangers that rocked it last year, the titans of Metal Fest are back in August! For a limited time, all-time tank favorites Iron Maiden, Megadeth, and Sabaton will be back.
