After serious titles, today I have a board game review for you that is aimed at a slightly different audience than Kacíř or Bulánci. This time, Mláďata z Divukraj comes under the microscope, offering fans of Divukraj a familiar but simplified format. The following lines of this text will tell you whether this game still has the ability to captivate.

Divukraj cubs want to do what their parents do.
Divukraj is a game where you have to build really big things. In short, animals realize their magnificent dream. As it often happens, young people often want to follow in the footsteps of their role models, and this is exactly what the game “Mladata z Divukraj” allows them to do, where you start to realize a space built by children for children. At the beginning of the game, each player chooses one type of animal, which he then begins to play. Since this is a family workplace, working with figurines is very important. In addition, you have a clearly defined number of characters for each round, so you will have to think a little about what you are going to do with them from the very beginning.
One way to deal with friends (workers) is to place them in the food station. There are other places that Cubs of Wild Ukraine can visit during the game. The most popular ones are probably the four points in the center of the game board, where a worker will always have a larger amount of a certain raw material, which is needed for construction and recruitment. However, it is never stated what kind of raw material it will be, since the game also has dice that you always roll at the beginning of the round to determine what materials will be available. Also, the box is designed for only one animal, so again you have to think about what you will need and what things you do not really need. In this way, you can get wood, resin or berries.
Each resource has a slightly different use. You use wood and resin primarily to build new structures, and you collect berries mainly to attract new residents. I’m not saying that Cubs of the Wild doesn’t offer exceptions to the rule, but most investments are built this way. You can also place your friends who failed to reach some profitable squares in positions outside of them, where you can place more characters. However, they are not as interesting. The last option where figures can be moved is by choosing cards with a place marked with paws. In this way, for example, you can get a resource from a placed cube, move a friend in a different way, or activate the abilities of your cards related to the start of the turn.
Once you move your friend to a certain position, you will be able to buy a card from the menu. The menu consists of five colors in total, which affect the course of the game in different ways. The cubs of Divukraj provide you with a wide variety of cards, the combination of which is necessary for victory. Only in this way will you be able to get victory points, as well as repeatedly hold shows, which are a reward for the fact that you managed to collect a certain amount of certain cards. The battle for the most beautiful camp is divided into four rounds, after which the game ends and your victory points are calculated, which include points received for the stocked up raw materials. There is also a solo option, but personally I was mainly playing with children, so most of the time it was ignored.
The family game Mláďata z Divukraj is a super starting workplace.
Although the gameplay of Cubs of Wild Ukraine is somewhat complex, I was able to get my four-year-old son to play without much difficulty. Of course, at first he had to have someone help him with the counting, but after a few games he was able to do everything himself. For my seven-year-old daughter, the game itself was not a problem from start to finish, and she was even able to develop a certain strategy. The advantage of the set was that I, as a more experienced player, could make things more difficult for myself, while my little competitor received crutches that made it easier for her to start.
In my opinion, Cubs from Divukraj is an ideal family work position, which can be played with both small and large players. However, it is worth considering from the very beginning that no impressive adventures await here, at least for veterans. But the game is not aimed at them, which should be understood from the very beginning. However, if you want to play Divukraj with children, this is the perfect option for you.
