It starts in less than two weeks. PlayStation VR2 work on computers. Virtual reality, originally intended for PS5, will require a special adapter on the PC. Everything is trampled through the application available on Steam.
Today Sony announced that the official app PlayStation VR2 app will be available on Steam from August 6 this year. The application will serve to initially set up the glasses, as well as provide future updates and gameplay. For this reason, it must remain installed on the PC. Your computer must meet the minimum system requirements. They are as follows:
- Windows 10 64-bit/Windows 11 64-bit
- Intel Core i5-7600/AMD Ryzen 3 3100 (Zen 2 architecture or newer)
- 8GB RAM
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650, AMD Radeon RX 5500XT / AMD Radeon RX 6500XT or better
- DisplayPort 1.4
- Bluetooth 4.0
For best results, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060, AMD Radeon RX 6600XT or newer graphics card is recommended.
As for the adapter, it will be sold from August 7, 2024 at a retail price of 59.99 euros (approx. 1,530 CZK) in selected retail stores. There will still be a need DisplayPort Cablewhich is compatible with DisplayPort 1.4. It is sold separately.
Despite all this HDR, eye tracking, adaptive trigger, and haptic feedback (except rumble) will not be available on PC. Instead, it will support 4K resolution (2000 x 2040 per eye), 110-degree field of view, finger touch recognition, and a transparent display, as well as foveate rendering (no eye tracking) and 3D audio in supported games.
