Lately, Ubisoft has been providing us with various materials from the upcoming Star Wars Outlaws event, which is backed by the creators of The Division series from Massive Entertainment. For example, through IGN magazine, you were able to view more 10 minutes of gameplay footagewhich show a passage from the planet Tatooine. However, the demonstration caused a very controversial reaction. Some players complained about the overall not very convincing graphics, especially the quality of textures, effects and individual animations.
However, Ubisoft representatives have previously confirmed that the game is officially finished, so any delays at this stage are unlikely. Another interesting piece of information emerged during the company’s recent quarterly call with investors, during which Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said that the game’s release will be preceded by the largest marketing campaign in the history of the French publisher. So it is clear that Ubisoft really believes in the game itself and its connection to the strong Star Wars brand.
Given the less than stellar financial results of recent years, which have also had a significant impact on the company’s value of operations, Ubisoft would really need some more commercial success. In addition to Star Wars Outlaws, the traditional publisher is also planning to release an equally anticipated new installment of the Assassin’s Creed series, subtitled Shadows, this year. Star Wars Outlaws will be released on August 30 on PC (Epic Games Store) and PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles.
