The retro shooter genre continues to thrive, but it’s hard to forget the games that started the trend. Or at least successfully rode its wave. Dark is certainly one of them. Cultwhich in many ways acts as a spiritual successor to the cult shooter Blood 1997. A game from a lone developer. Jason Smith aka Jasozz, will be released on Steam towards the end of 2022 and at least against the background of positive user reviews, this is a very successful business.
Over the past 12 months, Jasozz has continued the success of the cute retro shooter by releasing the free Interlude, or Christmas-themed Survival maps that act as, among other things, little tasters of the upcoming second chapter of the game. Indeed, the basic Cult was presented as the first chapter from the very beginning, while the sequel will be released as paid DLC. And while the author has frequently offered up various snippets and samples from development on Twitter, it’s still been impossible to say when Cultic: Chapter Two will actually release.
