Gaming analyst Matt Piscatella of Circana has published a rating Top Selling Games in the US for May. In the premium games category, the top sellers were Ghost of Tsushima, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door Remake, and Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3. While last year’s Call of Duty dominated on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles, Ghost of Tsushima saw strong sales, especially thanks to the recent release of the PC version.
At the same time, Piscatella has released several other recently released games, led by the action-adventure Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2. took 37th place in the overall standings and in the separate Xbox rankings it’s in 21st place, which is definitely not the position where one would expect the expected exclusivity from Microsoft right after release.
But in the case of the second Hellblade, this is the deciding factor. Launching as part of Xbox/PC Game Pass on the day of release, which undoubtedly had a significant impact on sales of traditional digital and physical copies. The second Hellblade was much better in the rating of active users, which in addition to free games includes Game Pass subscribers. In this review, the game from the Ninja Theory studio took an honorable 12th place. Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 is available on PC (Steam), Xbox Series X/S and the aforementioned Xbox/PC Game Pass subscription.
