For a few days, there is once again the opportunity to try out the ambitious space simulator. Star Citizenwhich has been in development since September 2012 at Cloud Imperium Games with the support of a dedicated community. The game initially raised over $2 million. By May 2024, over 700 million dollarsVarious companies also invested $63.25 million in the project.
If you want to see if Star Citizen is something you’d be interested in getting your own virtual skin for, you can play it on your computer until July 19th this year as part of Stock Festival. This is an ideal opportunity for both new players and those returning to the space simulator after a long time.
Seasoned veterans can help you get started on your adventure. Three starter packs will also come in handy. They are available until July 31 at a discounted price and include, among other things, additional in-game currency and ship insurance. Players can choose from RSI’s Aurora MR light fighter, Consolidated Outland’s flexible Nomad freighter, and the famous jack-of-all-trades Drake Cutter.
You can download Star Citizen here. Your computer should have at least Windows 10, a quad-core Intel Core i7 or AMD Bulldozer processor (K10 architecture), a DirectX 11.1-compatible graphics card, and 4GB of video memory, while the RAM should be 16GB RAM. Then prepare more than 100GB for an SSD.
As a minimum, the developers mention the NVidia 1060, AMD RX 5700/RX Vega 56/RX 460 and Intel A380/UHD Graphics 730 video cards.
