Developers from the German studio Competition Company have long been preparing the racing simulator Rennsport, which could potentially compete with such well-known games as rFactor 2, iRacing or Assetto Corsa. After the closed testing stage, this week transition to open betaallowing you to try the game for free. The development version is currently only available on the Epic Games Store.
Along with the launch of the beta version, the game received new update number 1.9which added several new cars to the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife, led by the Porsche 911 GT3 R Rennsport and GT4 models. Also worth noting is the built-in support for VR headsets. In its current form, Rennsport offers 11 tracks, some of which feature day and night cycles.
We don’t know the release date of the full version yet. In any case, the authors have previously reported that the basic version of the game will be available for freeand players will pay for additional content in the form of a subscription. Following the example of other racing simulators, Rennsport should focus on online racing.
