Remaster of the original Thing from Computer works strives, through new technologies and equipment, to provide an experience that was intended by the original authors but was technologically impossible.
Head of Business Development Department Larry Cooperman Nightdive Studios told GamesRadar+ that they are trying to get access to the game relative to the originaland while a lot of the assets from the original version are reused, they also want to complement the vision of the Computer Artworks team with new things and get closer to the original atmosphere that the creators intended.
“COMPUTER WORKS WAS REALLY, REALLY HAPPY AND RIGHT TO CREATE THE GAME. BUT THEY ALSO KNEW THE LIMITATIONS OF WHAT THEY COULDN’T DO SIMPLY BECAUSE THE TECHNOLOGY AND THE GAME ENGINE DIDN’T SUPPORT IT. WITHOUT GIVING INTO DETAIL OR PROVIDING SPOILERS, THERE ARE SOME THINGS WE WERE ABLE TO RESPONSE TO THE ORIGINAL VISION OF THE DEVELOPERS. THAT’S REALLY IMPORTANT TO US.”
