Activision recently launched pre-orders for the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. This, among other things, led to the reveal of the price, which remains fixed at 80 euros for the base version on consoles. Last year’s target was already sold at this price on both PlayStation and Xbox, so there’s nothing surprising in that regard. However, the situation is less positive on PC, where the publisher started raising the price and unification of prices with console versions.
As a result, while last year’s Modern Warfare 3 cost 70 euros on Steam, this year’s Black Ops 6 cost 70 euros. you will pay 80 euros, same as for consoles. In addition, the basic version will be complemented by a special Vault edition, which will be available on all mentioned platforms for 110 euros. At the same time, PC players still have relatively fresh memories of the previous price increase, which occurred in 2022 with the release of Modern Warfare II, when the price increased from 60 to 70 euros.
Thus, the next price increase will occur in just two years. However, it should be noted that, unlike previous installments, the new Call of Duty will be aimed at already on the day of release on Xbox/PC Game Pass. In addition to the price, in recent days, players have also been discussing the requirement of a constant Internet connection, which will also be required when playing through the campaign in connection with Black Ops 6. The developers justified this requirement by the need to stream some textures and other data from the cloud during the actual gameplay.
The negative reaction from the community intensified even more after one of the leaks, according to which the game should have required more than 300 GB of free space on disk. But this information was soon refuted by the developers themselves, who said that this was the sum of the sizes of Black Ops 6, last year’s Modern Warfare 3 and the Warzone mode. Thus, the new part itself should take up significantly less space. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be released on October 25 on PC (Steam) and PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
