Even before the release of Survival Horror Alan Wake 2 (our review here), we knew that the game would also receive two story expansions. And now, it seems, the presentation of the first of them is finally approaching.
Let me remind you that it is called Night Springs, i.e. the name of a fictional town and at the same time a series from the first part; the script for several episodes was written by Alan Wake himself. From earlier information, we know that the DLC will take place in this show. We have to go through several episodes with a closed story and play for famous characters.
While we don’t know anything more officially, Finnish developers Remedy have already started teasing the announcement on social media. The studio’s official account has changed its name to “Poison Pill Entertainment”, changed the logo, and in the new header we learn that this is a company founded in 1995 in Night Springs City. Interestingly, by the way, “poison” is the exact opposite of the word “medicine”.
A screenshot of the new look was retweeted by host Geoff Keighley, whose Summer Game Fest event will take place on June 7th. Various Remedy developers have interacted with Kaylee several times over the past few days, and it looks like Night Springs is almost certain to appear there.
But the question is whether the official announcement will happen on Friday at the State of Play. Remedy has used the Sony event for announcements several times in the past, including a remaster of Alan Wake, Control or its expansion.
