One of June’s surprises Presentation of Xbox games there should be an announcement of a new shooter from the Doom series. The game formerly known as Doom: Year Zero will now be called Doom: The Dark Ages. This was stated by Tom Henderson from Insider Gaming.
By “Dark Ages” we mean medieval atmosphere, which may be dark. The question is whether it will be purely medieval. It’s more about inspiration. This could have happened because of this mix of science fiction and medieval.
Do you think we should look at the life of the Doom Slayer during the medieval period? If so, then this could be a prequel to what we’ve already experienced in the Doom series.
Doom: The Dark Ages should be in development for at least four years. A Nate the Hate insider claims that it will be released on PC, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5. This is in line with Microsoft’s strategy to make games available on as many platforms as possible. Xbox One and PS4 are not discussed. It’s just not entirely clear whether it will be released on the same day on PS5.
The trademark registration told us that there was something going on around Doom. IDKFA from Bethesda. This is a well known cheat in Doom.
The latest game is 2020’s Doom Eternal, which has an average rating of 88% and very positive player reviews on Steam.
I’ll just add that the Xbox Games Showcase will take place on June 9 from 19:00 our time.
