Today, Capcom once again updated its ratings for platinum games (as of March 31 of this year), which are games that have sold more than 1 million copies. Little has changed in the leading positions, Monster Hunter: World continues to lead the list by a wide margin with 20 million copies sold, but the newer part with the subtitle Rise, however, is close to 15 million and not even Resident Evil 2 Remake and Resident Evil 7. Village is then only 200,000 copies away from the 10 million mark.
However, what is interesting is which game recently appeared in the ranking. The circulation of Great Ace Attorney Chronicles magazine has exceeded 1 million copies. The latter is a spin-off of these legal adventure/visual novels set in late 19th century England and Japan.
The original games were only released in Japan on Nintendo 3DS, but this collection released in July 2021 brings them to PC, PS4 and Nintendo Switch. Only the second game in this series managed to cross the platinum mark.
The first is a remaster of the original trilogy called Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy, released on modern platforms in February 2019. It has enjoyed huge success in recent months, breaking records for the most concurrent players on Steam. It has now reached number 30 on the platinum chart and has already sold 3.3 million copies.
At the end of January this year, the third collection was released – Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy. But we don’t know its numbers yet.
