Nintendo is expanding. A Japanese company is planning to buy a studio in Miami. Shiver Entertainmentwho created Switch ports for the role-playing game. Hogwarts Legacy and bloody battles Mortal Kombat 1.
Nintendo has agreed with the Swedish holding to acquire Shiver Entertainment Hug group. Over the past year and early this year, he carried out significant layoffs, canceled projects and closed studios to save money. The transaction price was not disclosed.
Nintendo will create Team Shiver subsidiary, which will have the resources to continue porting and developing high-level games for multiple platforms, including Switch. So the creators’ focus will remain the same. Accordingly, games are expected to be ported to Switch and its successors.
Shiver Entertainment was founded in late 2012 by veterans John Schappert (former COO of Electronic Arts) and Jason Andersen. Before that, they were at the founding of Tiburon Entertainment, later the company became EA Orlando.
