I noticed in the comments that some of you are annoyed by black samurais. It was chosen by developers from the Ubisoft Québec studio. He is a historical figure, the first black person in Japan. For this reason, he was feared, and some even considered him a god.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows takes place during the Azuchi-Momoyama period of Japanese history. The story begins in 1579 and continues until the early 1580s.. Yasuke is the first true playable character from the past in the series. Originally from Africa, he came to Japan with the Portuguese in 1579 and soon became a samurai in the service of Lord Oda Nobunaga.

Naoe is the fictional daughter of Fujibayashi Nagato. Her father trains her to become a skilled shinobi. After his death (we could see this in the film’s trailer), he seeks revenge.
