CEO Electronic art has a new one since then Battlefield Big hopes. Society intends to correct the failure Battlefield 2042 and bring military shooter back to popular games. The largest team in the history of the Battlefield series is working on a variety of games, including a single-player campaign and multiplayer battles.
“I’ve been spending a lot of time with the Battlefield team lately and playing what they create. It’s going to be another huge live game.” added the Electronic Arts CEO to shareholders. It is clear that EA has them big ambitions and they want to compare themselves to successful games like Fortnite, Apex Legends or Call of Duty: Warzone. Renowned Developer Leads Battlefield to Success Vince Zampellawho heads Respawn (Titanfall, Apex Legends) and previously co-founded Infinity Ward, where Call of Duty was created.
Battlefield is being developed by DICE, Ripple Effect, Criterion Games and Motive. (information here). Together they will create an experience for both multiplayer and single player. It is unofficially stated that the new Battlefield will feature a free battle royale, while classic multiplayer and single player will be paid. However, players remain wary. Lately they’ve been allergic to the Live Service label. They’re also upset that Andrew Wilson doesn’t mention at all whether Battlefield will be a good game.
Also the question is what happens with the plot part. Earlier this year, EA closed Ridgeline Games, where Halo creator Marcus Lehto Together with other veterans, he was preparing a story campaign for the future Battlefield. Lehto left the company shortly before it closed.
