Impressions from playing Vivat Slovakia

The gaming industry is doing very well, resulting in a lot of jobs. One of the projects that has been developed during this time is also the city event “Vivat Slovakia”, which recently entered pre-release access and, according to some, should even represent the Slovak equivalent of GTA. The following lines of our gaming impressions will describe to you how things stand at the moment.

90s in the wild at Vivat Slovakia

The GTA series has a number of distinctive features. One of the main ones is the fact that it takes the player into wild eras in which Vivat Slovakia does not want to deviate too much from its model, thanks to which, through this action, you can look into the 90s, which represented an impressive adventure. in the countries of the former Eastern Bloc. The protagonist of this story is the undercover cop Milan, in whose shoes the player takes on the role of a “taxi driver” who deals with ordinary people and special cases.

In my opinion, the story told is one of the main driving forces of this work. The creators will take you into a dark world, depicting this scene in the rawest colors. The overall impression of the plot in the case of Vivat Slovakia is reinforced by the dubbing, which definitely suits this game better than if it had an English-language coverage.

Unfortunately, the game world in which the narrative of this work unfolds is difficult to believe. Although people walk along the streets and cars ply along the roads, you cannot say that you feel part of this space, which is enhanced by the fact that those around you react to it minimally or not at all. So you can ride your cart around Bratislava like an animal. The police only begin to actively respond when shooting starts. However, the weapons here are very simple to operate, so it’s hard to get you involved in the action.Impressions from playing Vivat Slovakia Vivat Slovakia 5

Cars are just the tip of the iceberg

If you’re expecting car work to last, you’ll probably be disappointed. The driving model of Vivat Slovakia is at an average level. I’d probably be able to live with the fact that cars drive on the road the way they do if the game weren’t riddled with an incredible range of different bugs that can plague you at almost any time. At the very beginning, for example, I went to pick up a new batch of passengers in my taxi. It seemed that nothing terrible could happen, when suddenly one of the figures began to push my cart with its body. As a result, the car flew into the air, and a couple of potential customers spun in place until they were killed by a passing driver.

There are a lot of bugs, and what’s worse, the optimization is also terrible, which is completely inconsistent with what Vivat Slovakia looks like. The graphics page failed in this case, so I wouldn’t be afraid to call it outright outdated. The only thing worth talking about in this case is the treatment of the cars, but even they are not in the best condition and compared to how they look at other city events, they look like something that should have been here at least a decade ago. .Impressions from playing Vivat Slovakia Vivat Slovakia 1

If the set was just ugly, but drove without problems, I would probably think about criticizing it. The problem is that the FPS here jumps like jumps, regardless of the build. I, of course, take into account that the game is in early access, but even so it shouldn’t perform that poorly. While there may be changes in optimization, I’m not too concerned about the visuals as it’s possible they could be radically improved, leaving players with an even more dated experience upon release.

Vivat Slovakia is far from acceptable

Vivat Slovakia, a recent Early Access event, is undoubtedly a game with little potential. The problem, however, is that it entered this phase of development in a technical condition that is difficult to accept, which is at a terrifying level. However, this is not the only drawback that this product suffers from. Another, of course, is the fact that the visually lifeless city is static and the world as a whole does not respond significantly to the player.

The shooting also pleases action movie fans. The only thing I would put in the foreground now is how the plot and dubbing are handled here, because these two elements are the main driving forces of Vivat Slovakia. Otherwise, unfortunately, this is a very stupid and also ugly business, with which the chances of breaking through are not very high, even considering the price tag. But it is possible that some brutal transformations will occur during development. However, I personally don’t have much hope for it.

The Vivat Slovakia event is available in Early Access on PC via the Steam game client, where it can be accessed starting April 18, 2024.
